Biography
Originally from China, Chu Chang has been living in Ireland for over twenty years where she resides in Blackrock, Co. Louth with her husband and her two daughters. Raised in a family rooted in music, she fostered a deep connection with various instruments from an early age. Although her early tuition was in the piano and flute, her real passion was for the harp. It was her love of the instrument that brought her to Ireland.
She studied under the tutelage of Denise Kelly, one of Ireland's esteemed harp teachers and former harpist with orchestras such as the RTE concert and symphony orchestras and the Orchestra of St.Cecelia.
With an extensive repertoire spanning diverse genres, Chu Chang has played at many state occasions in Ireland and China, including for Wei Junzing, former mayor of Jinzhou and esteemed former president of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
“We can wholeheartedly recommend the wonderfully talented Chu Chang, as her enchanting music and song from many traditions, offers immense pleasure, and always creates a beautiful atmosphere for all our events."
John Noonan Poetry / Dundalk
“Beautiful and haunting, as the Titanic claims more poor souls. I really liked the black and white effect, which evoked the spirit of the Titanic in 1912. Thank you, Chang"
